Our Philosophy & Mission

At Radcliffe Creek School, the primary focus is remediating each child’s learning difference through the creation of individual goals and objectives that accomodate the specific needs of that child. Each student has the opportunity to work intensely with his or her teachers in an effort to learn and grow with confidence and pride in his or her own abilities.

Profiling a Radcliffe student is not easy. Diverse strengths and interests make each different from another. Yet they all have one thing in common; they all deserve an alternative to a conventional educational setting. The learning environment that Radcliffe offers is designed for bright children ages six to fourteen who have a diagnosed learning disability or other related learning disorder. These learning differences can manifest as difficulties in the areas of reading, writing, spelling,
math, organizational skills or concentration.

The three-to-one student to teacher ratio allows each child to work towards mastery of skills at his or her own pace. Children are encouraged to take risks to achieve beyond expectation. They are taught “It’s ok to make a mistake. We all do!”

At Radcliffe, we serve students in grades preK-8, diagnosed with: ADD, ADHD, Central Auditory Processing Disorders, Dyslexia, Dysgraphia, Executive Dysfunction, Language-Based Disorders or Non-Verbal Learning Disabilities.

The spirit of creativity and fun permeates all aspects of life at Radcliffe. Traditional academics are taught in extraordinary ways. Reading is taught using shaving cream and chocolate pudding. Geograpy is taught by making metamorphic chocolate chip cookies. By making an impression and creating a memory, learning happens.

The teachers at Radcliffe Creek School combine innovative, multi-sensory, hands on methods with small group instruction. By providing their students with specific strategies and skills, the teachers teach children with learning differences to be independent and, therefore, more successful.
