Curriculum of the Creek
Every student's journey is a personalized path to success, utilizing multi-sensory and active learning principles to unlock their full potential. The Radcliffe Creek Curriculum integrates subjects like Orton-Gillingham-based Reading, multi-sensory Language Arts and Mathematics, immersive Discovery (science/social studies), Arts (visual/drama) focused on National Core Art Standards, and Physical Education emphasizing social-emotional development. Enrichment offers students opportunities to explore their passions through non-academic pursuits, including art, music, and athletics.
Our robust academic foundation is strengthened by integrated support systems, including Social-Emotional Learning (SEL), which fosters healthy identities and relationships, and seamless technology integration from an early age. Radcliffe Creek ensures every student is challenged, engaged, and equipped to achieve their potential, cultivating essential life skills for lasting success.
Arts
At Radcliffe Creek School, our Arts program isn't just about masterpieces; it's a dynamic laboratory for vital life skills. Rooted in the National Core Art Standards (Creating, Presenting, Responding), students unleash creativity through multi-sensory visual arts and drama. This hands-on exploration fosters critical thinking, communication, and collaboration, while utilizing their motor skills, equipping them not just with artistic talent but with the confidence to thrive in any future endeavor.

Discovery
Our unique Discovery program makes science and social studies come alive! Through immersive, nine-week blocks, students actively engage with topics using all their senses, transforming classrooms into vibrant learning landscapes. From canoeing the Sassafras to building models and role-playing history, this hands-on approach builds a holistic understanding. It's learning by doing, ensuring students are mastering subjects while developing essential skills for future academic settings.

Enrichments
Our 6th-period Enrichment program fosters well-rounded individuals by providing unique non-academic pursuits that complement the core curriculum. Students explore passions like cooking and baking, soccer, basketball, comic book creations, outdoor survival skills, chess club, drama, yoga, singing, or martial arts. These engaging activities build confidence, broaden horizons, and ensure that every student discovers their best selves inside and outside the classroom.

Language Arts
The RCS Language Arts program transcends traditional methods, embracing a dynamic, multi-sensory approach to empower every student. Our curriculum systematically builds foundational skills in writing, grammar, comprehension, and vocabulary, utilizing research-backed programs. Whether through Orton-Gillingham instruction or advanced literature analysis, we equip students with the strategies to become independent learners and confidently find their voice.

Mathematics
At Radcliffe Creek, we make math click! Our Mathematics program goes beyond traditional teaching, leveraging multi-sensory and hands-on techniques to build conceptual understanding and confidence in every student. With individualized goals aligned to NCTM standards and mastery-based learning, students actively experience math, using tools like resource binders to transition seamlessly into advanced instruction and tackle challenges in high school and beyond.

Physical Education
Physical Education is more than just burning energy or fun and games – it's a dynamic journey building lifelong habits and fostering social-emotional growth. In a cooperative and supportive environment, students develop sportsmanship, teamwork, and confidence to embrace challenges, cultivating character and self-belief. Our mission is to empower every student to sustain regular physical activity, leading to a healthy, productive, and fulfilling life.

Reading
Our core Orton-Gillingham (OG) methodology, taught by RCS-trained faculty, provides engaging, multi-sensory instruction that meets every student exactly where they are. Through specialized Reading programs focusing on systematic skill-building and small-group Literature classes enhancing higher-order thinking, students develop fluency, comprehension, and confidence. This approach ensures every student becomes a lifelong reader, ready to embrace the world of words.
