I’m beginning research looking into abiotic influences on fish acoustics and behavior in estuarine systems.
Over the past four years, I’ve completed my bachelor of science in earth and environmental sciences focusing in coastal studies at the University of New Orleans. Won some awards, graduated with honors, on a couple list (dean’s, president’s), etc. Generally had an amazing time being a big academic nerd. I am now a PhD student in the “Laboratory of Fish Morphology and Behavior” under Dr. Kelly Boyle/University of New Orleans. I’m beginning research looking into abiotic influences on fish acoustics and behavior in estuarine systems. Our goals are to better understand how river/sediment diversions will impact spawning aggregations in sciaenids (drums, croakers, spot). These diversions are part of the Master Plan to help rebuild coast down in the Mississippi delta.
