Max Ruehrmund ’05

A native of the Eastern Shore, Max is a 2005 graduate of Radcliffe Creek School and has remained connected to RCS as an alumnus, most recently participating in the 2024 Remembrance Day ceremony as an Alumni Speaker. After high school, Max attended Washington College, obtaining a BA in Environmental Studies. Thereafter, he received his

Masters of Science (with Honors) in Environmental Earth Studies from James Cook University in Australia.

Professionally, Max has dedicated himself to scientific and environmental research and management over the last decade. He has served, variously, as a research assistant for Hood College’s Center for Coastal and Watershed Studies; vessel captain and marine scientist with

Versar, Inc.; scientist with the Smithsonian’s Environmental Research Center; and, currently, program manager for the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

Max is excited to give back to Radcliffe through board service. He hopes to drive connections for the school in areas of environmental studies and philanthropy, as well as to further our advancement initiatives with our alumni.

The Board of trustees is excited to welcome another RCS graduate to the Board of Trustees, serving as an ambassador of the value of experiential learning.
