From the Head of School
Dear Radcliffe Creek School Community,
At this critical time for our community, nation, and the world, as we long for a lost sense of community and normalcy, Radcliffe Creek School remains a place of singular strength, innovation, and compassion.
That we continue to cleave to our founding mission: to empower children in a dynamic environment that celebrates unique learning, is primarily due to the herculean efforts of our incredibly dedicated and resilient teachers. It is not too much of a stretch to think of them as first responders for education, and we can never, never, thank them enough!
The speed and urgency with which our teachers have switched gears to ramp up online classes, video lessons, and one-on-one student engagement have been nothing short of inspiring. Even those of us who see what teachers give of themselves on an “ordinary'' day are in jaw-dropping awe of their fierce drive and commitment. Experience tells us that each of our students desperately needs to remain a part of their school, to stay connected to teachers and friends, and to keep engaging as learners. Perhaps most important of all is that families know they can depend upon the extra something that each teacher, child, parent, and friend of Radcliffe has come to know and cherish: The Radcliffe Way.
Our fabulous school has received a $100,000 matching grant from two generous family foundations: The Doug and Gay Lane Foundation and the Barbara L. Thomas Foundation that will match --dollar for dollar-- every gift we receive between now and December 31, 2020. This is an unprecedented opportunity to double the value of your gift of any amount! We ask you to please consider supporting Radcliffe Creek with your gift or pledge now. To give online, please click here.
Like nonprofits and businesses everywhere in the U.S., the current economic turmoil has placed our school in a vulnerable position that we are attempting to mitigate with federal, state and local aid, including bridge loans. Your gift provides help at a critical time in our school's history!
There are many ways to give including by making a one-time or recurring gift online or by check, making a gift of securities, or gifting your mandatory disbursement (tax-free) from an IRA retirement account. Please visit our website to explore more ways to give.
As we plan for our school’s future, we must take into account the large number of families who will need increased levels of scholarship assistance. Affordability for lower and middle-income families is the biggest challenge to our school's mission of serving children who learn differently. Yet the need for our program remains stronger than ever. Often, students come to us in crisis, whether the need is for multi-sensory instruction, a caring environment to ease anxiety, a safe place to practice social skills or simply a place where the best of each child is honored and celebrated.
We believe that our students have tremendously valuable gifts to offer the world. With your help, children will continue to receive the Radcliffe education they need and deserve. Thank you for helping transform children’s lives!
