The New Faces of RCS

Along with the surge in enrollment this school year, we recently welcomed a number of new faculty members to Radcliffe Creek. We are excited to bring each of these teachers into the Radcliffe family, and we hope you will get to know them soon!

Hannah Morehead, one of our newest English Language Arts Teachers, moved to Maryland from Arizona. She has a degree in liberal arts and sciences from Pima Community College and is a registered behavior technician with extensive experience in teaching and caring for the neurodivergent. When Hannah isn't working on her degree in Speech Language and Hearing Sciences from the University of Arizona, she is busy planning her wedding, spending time with her cats, baking and reading. Since beginning at RCS, Hannah has already received training in The Nancibell® Visualizing and Verbalizing® Language Comprehension and Thinking (V/V) program. She's excited to have an impact at Radcliffe Creek. "My true joy is witnessing children learn and grow-- and I'm eager to continue making a positive impact on the kiddos this year!"

With the return of our Kindergarten program this year, we were especially excited to find a teacher with Orton-Gillingham experience! Becca Gsell, a current parent of Emma with experience teaching at Friendshop Montessori School, substitute teaching at RCS and tutoring at Open Doors Partners in Education, has her Associate Degree in Early Childhood Education from Chesapeake College and is working on her Bachelor's Degree in Early Childhood Studies at Arizona State University. In 2002, she receiveed her Fran Bowman's Orton-Gillingham Certification. A lover of books and history, Becca tries to weave these topics into her teaching. "I try to promote those two topics as much as I can. I love seeing the excitement and curiosity show when children start connecting those dots and relating the information to something else."

Chestertown native Maryanne Shoge has joined our English Language Arts team after acting as RCS' go-to substitute teacher for over a year. Maryanne graduated from Washington College in 2007. After college, she worked for the Kent County Public Schools for two years, where she taught English and History. Following this, Maryanne acted as a substitute teacher for various schools in the area. In her free time, Maryanne enjoys theatre, having recently starred in the play Little Women. Teaching is her dream job, and she hopes one day to be a successful writer as well. “I fell in love with the Radcliffe culture and students,” said Maryanne.
