Her husband was a Radcliffe graduate so RCS was always in their minds. Becca came to Radcliffe as a substitute for the 2022-2023 school year. This was also her daughter's first year at Radcliffe as a student. She gained some amazing experience as a teacher at Friendship Montessori school for the 2023-2024 school year and also tutored an OG student with Open Doors Partners in Education. She made her way back to RCS as the Kindergarten and 1st grade teacher for the 2023/2024 school year.
Becca is originally from Milford, Delaware and wanted to make a difference for others in some way. She started working for an attorney and then for the Justice of the Peace courts in New Castle County. When she met her now husband she relocated to Chestertown where she worked as a cake decorator at Village Bakery. Once children came along, she was fortunate enough to be a stay-at-home mom for most of their early years.
When the pandemic struck and virtual school began, Becca saw the struggles her oldest daughter was facing academically. She enrolled in online college through Chesapeake College and gained an Associate’s Degree in Early Child Development in May of 2023 while simultaneously becoming trained in Fran Bowman’s Orton Gillingham reading program. She turned right around and began her Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Studies through Arizona State University and plans to graduate in May of 2026. She wanted to be able to help her daughter as well as eventually join the workforce helping other students to reach their full potential once her children were old enough to all be in school.
Outside of work, Becca enjoys time with her family which consists of a very supportive husband, 3 very busy girls, four dogs, four fish, two rabbits, a hamster, a turtle, a tank full of hermit crabs, and a flock of chickens. She constantly refers to her home as a zoo! Between days on the boat, camping weekends, the kids busy schedule full of Girl Scouts, 4H, dance classes, baseball and soccer season, and horseback riding lessons, Becca tries to find time to read, bake and decorate cakes and plan the family’s next adventures!!
