Pelayo Coll

Pelayo Coll is the Deputy General Counsel at Morgan Properties, where he oversees transaction structuring, acquisitions, dispositions, financings, the negotiation joint venture agreements and legal due diligence. In addition, Mr. Coll assists with the legal compliance and risk management functions within Morgan Properties. Prior to joining Morgan Properties, Mr. Coll was a Partner and Practice Group Leader at Blank Rome LLP in Philadelphia, PA, where he maintained a national practice counseling clients in all facets of real estate transactions. Examples of Mr. Coll’s experience include representing a large national senior housing developer in acquisitions and financing of senior care facilities in Florida, Maryland, and Pennsylvania; representing a large publicly traded REIT in its repositioning of a Center City Philadelphia mall; and representing a joint venture in the acquisition, financing and ultimate disposition of Worldwide Plaza, a 47-story Class A office building in Midtown Manhattan.

 

Mr. Coll has substantial experience in and in-depth knowledge of the acquisition, financing, and disposition ofmultifamily properties including large multi-site transactions. He has been involved in a number of the largest asset transactions since 2010.

 

Prior to joining Blank Rome, Mr. Coll was an associate at Arnold & Porter in Washington, D.C., where he was a member of the Real Estate Department.

 

Outside Morgan Properties, Mr. Coll has been involved in numerous civic and community groups in Philadelphia, particularly those serving the Latino community. He is the chair of the board of directors of Asociación Puertorriqueñosen Marcha, Inc., one of Philadelphia’s leading Latino- based health, human services, community, and economic development nonprofit organizations helping Philadelphia-area families achieve their full potential in life. Mr. Coll alsoserves on the board of directors of the Pan-American Association of Philadelphia, which is an all-volunteer, non-partisan, nonprofit organization that seeks to “promote cultural, educational and economic activities designed toincrease understanding and cooperation among the peoples of the Americas.”

 

Mr. Coll received a BA from the University of Maryland, College Park and a law degree, magna cum laude, from the Washington College of Law of American University.
